Powerless!

Last night's thunderstorms were the first true test of the new UPS devices I attached to the two main desktop PCs. Power flickered off and on 5 or 10 times within the space of 1 minute, and the backup batteries kicked in and kept things running, giving me time to properly power down and shut off everything until the power finally went out completely at around 8:30 during the second severe t-storm warning. Power stayed off for about 90 minutes. Took the kids for a walk in the neighborhood after the storm passed and it was truly peaceful - no A/C units buzzing, no glaring streetlights.
